I'm a cynic, and I see a lack of sincerity. :-)
The main reason is his electric guitar is not even plugged in! You could hardly even hear it in a park, why bother? He also doesn't have a pick, which is odd for an electric guitar.
So I see a phtot with the intent of presenting a cool look, showing off his tattoos and trendy hemp shirt...
ahh how our minds colour our interpretations. My poor children.
Your assessment is indeed grim. But, to outshine you in the realm of naivety, I still think it's real. He's just in a quiet park and his pick was green and thus got lost amongst the nicely trimmed grass.
And his tats are hot. And his hemp is the trendiest.
So there.
